When Kim was teaching her classes this morning, she had us sit in a circle at the end and pass around her Tibetan cymbals. She had each child ring the cymbals, make a wish, and pass it along. The way they treated those cymbals with such resonance, and quieted down to hear them resonate and echo, was so awesome.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;My favorite part, though? When I overheard a young girl whisper to the cymbals, &amp;#8220;I wish to be a fairy princess.&amp;#8221;&lt;/p&gt;

Now that I graduate this coming Saturday, I&amp;#8217;m scrambling to put a concrete plan together. Because that&amp;#8217;s what I do. I plan. And then I get shit done.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;When my best OMie, Kim, emerged from her teacher training program last year, she vowed to say yes to every opportunity that came her way. As a result, she had classes at two different yoga studios, and also teaches kids three days a week as a teacher for the &lt;a href="http://www.newarkyogamovement.org/NewarkYogaMovement/Splash_Page.html" title="newark yoga movement" target="_blank"&gt;Newark Yoga Movement&lt;/a&gt;. Watching her journey as a teacher has made me feel optimistic that opportunities will present themselves to me, as long as I am open to them.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;But this week, when Kim asked if &lt;em&gt;I&amp;#8217;d &lt;/em&gt;like to work for the NYM, I hesitated. Past experience had taught me that teaching children might not be one of my strengths.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Still, I felt angry with myself for putting up walls the moment an opportunity came my way, so I gladly accepted the opportunity to shadow her this morning as she made her rounds at one of the K - 2 schools.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;And I&amp;#8217;m glad I went. The children were too adorable for words. And Kim had a way with them that was fascinating to watch. But as I watched her, I got that sinking feeling in my stomach. This was too far out of my comfort zone. This wasn&amp;#8217;t something I could do. Once I had my teaching certification in hand, I wanted to find opportunities where I could actually utilized &lt;em&gt;my &lt;/em&gt;personal strengths.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Was it stupid of me to turn down that opportunity? I&amp;#8217;m still not sure. (Though it&amp;#8217;s not as if the opportunity won&amp;#8217;t remain open to me in the future.)&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;But at the moment, I can think of &lt;em&gt;so many things &lt;/em&gt;that I would be &lt;em&gt;so much better &lt;/em&gt;at:&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;ul&gt;&lt;li&gt;teaching in the studio that has become like a second home to me&lt;/li&gt;
&lt;li&gt;teaching young professionals how to &lt;em&gt;let go&lt;/em&gt;&lt;/li&gt;
&lt;li&gt;teaching freelance word nerds how to use yoga as a natural part of their creative process&lt;/li&gt;
&lt;li&gt;putting together a variety of targeted/themed workshops&lt;/li&gt;
&lt;li&gt;creating content marketing for yoga and wellness professionals&lt;/li&gt;
&lt;li&gt;acting as a marketing consultant for yoga teachers and studio owners&lt;/li&gt;
